7. 2023-24

This past season's team is up next and is another team that lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Expectations were sky-high for this team as they were a preseason top-five team. They weren't even close to living up to their expectations, going 20-15 (10-10).

However, the reason I think this team is better than the last three teams mentioned is because I believe they were a lot better than their record. The stats back it up as they were a highly-ranked team both on KenPom and in the NET rankings even after 15 losses.

This team suffered heartbreaking loss after heartbreaking loss, many of which could have very easily been wins. I know at some point a team needs to be punished for losing so many close games, but I think this team still had a lot more to offer than the previous three mentioned.

This team also had prime Tyson Walker who, in my opinion, was better than any player on the previous teams. Sure the previous teams would likely dominate this 2023-24 team down low, but I think the guard play would make up for it. These last four teams are very close to each other, so I wouldn't be upset with anyone switching up the order, but the next team, in my opinion, was significantly better than the ones we just talked about.
