Wide Receiver 1: Montorie Foster Jr.

The wide receiver room is an interesting one this year, but not for the reasons I’m hoping for. Instead of having multiple proven options like we saw at running back, the wide receiver room has a lot of question marks surrounding their unit.

But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

The first and obvious starter is Montorie Foster Jr. He has the most experience out of all the receivers by far and is the clear No. 1 receiver in my eyes. Last year was solid for Foster as he grabbed 43 passes for 576 yards and three touchdowns. Not the most impressive season by any means, but it’s one he can easily improve on this year with Chiles slinging him the ball.

Foster is entering his fifth and final season at Michigan State, and currently has appeared in 42 games including 16 starts. He’s the exact guy you want leading the wide receiver room and is the perfect breakout candidate as well.

And who knows, maybe Foster will end up being a captain this season as well.
