Game 11: Michigan State vs. Purdue

Michigan State comes into their home stretch likely needing at least one more win to make a bowl game. Thankfully their final two games are at home (the first time all season they get back-to-back home games).

A weird scheduling quirk will make this a lower scoring game than you would think as this game is set for an 8 p.m. Friday night kickoff (gross). So that means Vegas will adjust the spread accordingly, making it closer than they maybe would have originally.

The Boilermakers are projected to win 4.5 games which is the same as MSU, but like I’ve said countless times I think the Spartans surpass that win total.

Make it Michigan State -4.5

Game 12: Michigan State vs. Rutgers

The season finale sees Rutgers come to town, and this isn’t the super bad Rutgers team we’re used to seeing. They won’t be world beaters this season, but most think they’ll be slightly better than Michigan State this season.

Hopefully the Spartans already have six wins by this point, because I’d hate for bowl eligibility to be riding on winning this game, but that being said I think MSU will still win.

Michigan State’s offense will be firing on all cylinders at this point and their defense will be playing solid as well. If the spread was released today I think Rutgers would be the favorite, but that’s not what I’m projecting. I’m projecting what the spread will be when this game is played, and I think the Spartans will close the season as small favorites once again.

Make it Michigan State -2
