Game 1: Michigan State vs. Florida Atlantic

While this post is about me projecting what I think the spread of each Michigan State football game will be, unfortunately we start with a game Vegas has already released a spread for (don’t worry, Vegas has only beat us to the punch on two games).

So the official opening spread for Michigan State vs. FAU week one at Spartan Stadium is -11. To be honest, this line seems a little low to me. I think the Spartan’s offense will be much better than most think and the defense will be slightly improved as well.

I would’ve probably put the spread closer to -15, but I do understand why Vegas has it where they do.

Game 2: Michigan State at Maryland

Michigan State’s second game sees them with an early road game against a Big Ten opponent. I would’ve preferred to have more games under MSU’s belt before hitting the road and playing a Big Ten opponent, but that’s a conversation for another day.

Maryland has a lot of changes to their team this season as well, including breaking in a new quarterback. The Terps won’t be the best team MSU plays all season, but they also won’t be the worst. This game is probably as close to a toss up as it could be, especially since it’s so early in the season, but I think the home team will be slightly favored.

Make it Michigan State +2
