The season is finally here. We finally get to see what Michigan State football looks like under new head coach Jonathan Smith, and I have a feeling it's going to be such a nice feeling to finally have some stability in the program once again.

But at the end of the day, we expect Michigan State to win a lot of football games. We expect them to compete each week and not get blown out by the best teams in the country like we saw last season.

This season is hard to predict after all of the changes to the program this offseason, but that makes it more exciting to try and predict the wins and losses this year.

But we're going to take it one step further and try to predict the final score of all 12 games for Michigan State this season, beginning with Florida Atlantic in Week 1.

1. Florida Atlantic

First up is Florida Atlantic, and man am I thankful that Michigan State doesn't start with a Power Four opponent.

FAU by no means is an automatic win, especially for a brand new team in their first real game together, but at the end of the day the Spartans should not have any problems winning this game.

I do think MSU starts slow and is only up by one score at the half, but most teams start slow in their first game so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. But when the second half begins the Spartans' offense will wake up behind two long touchdown runs from Nate Carter.

Prediction: MSU wins 38-17

Record: 1-0
