Just a few days after the Spartans' date with the Trojans MSU will take on USC’s biggest rival in UCLA. The last time Michigan State played the Bruins was in the 2021 First Four of the NCCA Tournament. The Spartans lost that game 86-80 in overtime after choking away a substantial lead.

While the team now is completely different from then I'm sure Izzo will be using this as motivation at least for himself.

However, I just dont think it's possible for MSU to go 2-0 on their California road trip. Especially considering UCLA will be one of the best teams in the Big Ten this season.

Prediction: UCLA wins 83-68

12. Oregon

Next up for Michigan State is the final new Big Ten team, the Oregon Ducks.

I'm not very high on Oregon this year and I think they are going to struggle getting adjusted to the Big Ten. So whenever that is the case about a team they likely stand no chance at beating MSU at the Breslin Center.

I am however a little concerned about this game because of where it is scheduled. MSU is fresh off their long road trip to California, one that I imagine will take a lot out of them. Then if you look ahead to the upcoming games on their schedule you'll see that things are going to get a lot more difficult.

So this game has trap game written all over it. But instead of blowing Oregon out I see a much closer game then anyone will hope for, but in the end it will still be a victory for the green and white.

Prediction: Michigan State wins 74-72
