5. @ Northwestern

Michigan State's fifth game of the season sees them hit the road once again, this time to Northwestern. Typically the Wildcats aren't the best team in the Big Ten, but they aren't the worst either. Thankfully Spartan killer Boo Buie is finally in the pros so that surely will make this game much easier.

Northwestern will be a scrappy team again this season who will be able to pull off an upset or two, but I don't see that happening against MSU.

Prediction: Michigan State wins 73-67

6. Penn State

Next up is a Penn State team that, similar to many of the other teams already on the schedule, isn't that good. The Nittany Lions will likely be at the bottom of the standings all season, so this is a game Michigan State should expect to win at home fairly easily.

It's important to win this game in dominant fashion because the Spartans' schedule after this game gets much more difficult.
