3. @ Ohio State

After a few non-conference games the Spartans travel to Ohio State for game three of the Big Ten season. This game scares me a little as Ohio State will be a team that finishes in the top half of the standings. Columbus isn't an easy place to win either which hurts my confidence that much more.

But the opportunity in front of MSU in this game is massive. A win here would keep them undefeated in the Big Ten with three more easy games up next. So a win against the Buckeyes would likely result in a 6-0 start to the season.

Unfortunately I think Michigan State drops its first game here.

Prediction: Ohio State wins 65-61

Updated Record: 2-1

4. Washington

Next up is the first new Big Ten team Michigan State will face in the Washington Huskies. A couple of the new teams will be very good while some, to put it nicely, will be very bad. Washington is one of those teams that I think will be very bad.

This game is one that I have very little concern about, especially considering in this scenario it will be after a heartbreaking loss to Ohio State.

The pressure will be high to not fall to .500, but I have complete faith in the Spartans getting a win here.

Prediction: Michigan State wins 73-58

Updated Record: 3-1
