Michigan State needs to be very careful.

The biggest fear after losing two games this early in the season is that Michigan State football could let these losses snowball into many more losses the rest of the season. We have all seen that happen before, even at Michigan State. Does anyone remember the 2016 season?

I have faith that Jonathan Smith and this year's Michigan State team won't let that happen, they seem too locked in with the right mindset for something like that to occur. That, however, didn't stop one Spartan in particular from warning his teammates about what could occur if they are not careful.

Anthony Jones Jr. is a transfer defensive lineman from Indiana. He played in all 12 games last season for the Hoosiers on a team that went 3-9. Jones says that Indiana lost their locker room early in the season after a few losses and were never able to get their season back on track.

So Jones is using this as a cautionary tale because clearly he doesn't want to see that happen again.

And it appears his teammates are listening. It was running back Nate Carter who shared in his postgame press conference that Jones said this, so if Carter, who is one of the leaders of this team, listened and took this message to heart then I have no doubt the rest of the team did as well.

Michigan State's schedule doesn't get any easier from here and there's a great chance it loses some more games throughout the rest of the season, but as long as the Spartans remember this message then I have no doubt that they will be able to reach a bowl game at minimum.
