A new era of Michigan State football is officially upon us.

After four years of Mel Tucker, the Spartans are moving on to Jonathan Smith who comes over from Oregon State. The expectations for the upcoming season after going 9-15 over the past two years are minimal. But they're slowly rising.

The excitement is high for some of the newcomers, though.

One of those newcomers is former top-150 recruit Nick Marsh and he was recently tabbed Michigan State's "top breakout candidate" for the 2024 season by Saturday Blitz.

Kaiden Karper of Saturday Blitz had this to say about Marsh:

"At 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, Marsh has track speed for his size and the physical archetype to be a huge mismatch in man coverage. Michigan State already has a trio of solid pass catchers in Jaron Glover, Antonio Gates Jr., and Montorie Foster Jr., but none have proven to be a true alpha out wide. Marsh just could be the difference maker in the passing game."

Marsh has drawn plenty of hype this offseason and his showing during the spring game only made fans more excited about what he could bring to the table. He was the Spartans' top recruit in the 2024 class and he has the potential to be a really special player.

If Marsh lives up to his potential, he can be one of the best receivers to ever come through East Lansing. He was one of the top recruits that Smith had to try and keep when he was hired. Luckily he was able to convince him to remain a Spartan.

It looks like Michigan State fans are not the only ones who believe that Marsh is going to have a huge 2024 season.
