New Michigan State basketball star Frankie Fidler hosting youth camp
It's always good to see Michigan State basketball and football players giving back to the community with youth camps and it looks like there's a new Spartan joining the list.
On Monday, Omaha transfer and new Spartan hoops star Frankie Fidler announced that he would be hosting his first annual youth basketball skills camp.
He's just the latest Spartan athlete to announce a youth camp for the summer.
To me, this is a good sign that Michigan State got itself a leader. While hosting these camps may be a good way to make some money, it's also a cool way to give back to the community. I'm sure Fidler isn't having a tough time making NIL money now that he's in East Lansing, so this is a camp that benefits the community more than himself.
From the looks of it, per his link, the registration seems to be $60 per camper for each three-hour session. That's not bad especially considering a major Division 1 athlete is hosting.
It'll be interesting to see if any fellow Spartans join him at his camp to help out -- he has been working out a lot with Malik Hall and Jaden Akins this summer so I wouldn't be shocked to see either one at Fidler's youth camp.
Fidler joins guys like Aidan Chiles, Jordan Turner, and Jordan Hall who have all announced youth camps on the football side of things this summer. It's great to see these guys giving back because I know that when I was a kid, I would have killed to go to a youth camp hosted by my favorite college athletes.
Great stuff from Frankie and the football guys.
