Jonathan Smith knows the Spartans' Week 6 opponent very well. The first-year head coach may be hearing up for his first (of many) Michigan State vs. Oregon games, but he's seen the Ducks every year since he's been at Oregon State. He's familiar with Oregon.

But that doesn't mean that Friday night's showdown in Eugene will be any easier.

Yes, Smith has pulled off the upset against Oregon in the past, but Michigan State is in major rebuild mode and in a worse spot than his Beavers were when he upset the Ducks.

Still, there's plenty of hope and promise in East Lansing that the future is bright. He will, however, have to head to Eugene to make a statement and if he wants to pull off the upset of the Ducks in Autzen Stadium on Friday night, he'll have to get a near-perfect game from Aidan Chiles and the rest of the Spartans.

What does Vegas think of this matchup between the 4-0 Ducks and the 3-2 Spartans? Here are the final odds as of Friday morning courtesy of DraftKings.

Line: Oregon -23.5
Over/Under: 52.5
Moneyline: Oregon -1450 | Michigan State +850

Surprisingly, the odds are better for Michigan State this week in Eugene than they were against Ohio State in East Lansing a week ago. Vegas saw Michigan State hang with the Buckeyes and it showed that the Spartans are better than originally expected.

But I don't see this game ending well for Michigan State even if it does hang around for a couple of quarters like it did against Ohio State.

I think Aidan Chiles might struggle to move the ball through the air against this elite secondary and the run game won't be able to generate quite enough to pull off the upset. Things will be interesting for 30 minutes before the Spartans run out of gas and Oregon pulls away late.

Prediction: Michigan State 17, Oregon 38
