Michigan State football will reportedly get Jaron Glover back vs. Ohio State
No Nick Marsh, no Jaron Glover, no win versus Boston College. Michigan State football found out the hard way just how difficult it's going to be to win without two of its top pass-catchers.
The Spartans nearly pulled off the upset in Chestnut Hill, taking Boston College down to the wire until ultimately surrendering the go-ahead score with under 1:30 to play and failing to respond with a touchdown despite cruising into Eagle territory with under a minute left.
An interception by Aidan Chiles was the nail in the coffin that may not have happened if he had more than just a couple of options in the passing game.
Fortunately for Chiles and the Spartans, however, they'll be getting a major target back after he missed two weeks due to an injury. That's right, Glover is reportedly returning to the field this weekend against Ohio State after missing the Prairie View A&M and Boston College games.
This isn't going to be a quick fix for the offense and for Chiles' turnover problem, but it's going to take a lot of pressure off of Jack Velling and Montorie Foster Jr. who have been trying to carry the workload in the passing game since Glover went down.
Glover had his first breakout game of the season against Maryland before he missed the next two weeks, catching six passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. He was a big reason the Spartans took down the Terrapins in College Park.
Let's hope he returns to form against the Buckeyes because the Spartans could use all the help they can get on Saturday night.
