Jonathan Smith has brought the excitement back to Michigan State football.

That's right, it's only taken two weeks, but Smith has returned Michigan State to the front of fans' minds after a two-year hiatus under Mel Tucker following the 2021 season. The football program has been in a horrible place since the start of the 2022 season but Smith has fixed that in a hurry, leading the Spartans to a 2-0 record through two weeks.

And it's not like Michigan State is only beating up on nobodies. No, the Spartans went on the road and beat a solid Maryland team that won 50-7 over UConn in the opener.

Michigan State is entering its third game of the season and this time it's against an FCS foe. Prairie View A&M is one of the worst teams in the FCS and the Spartans will look to take full advantage and improve to 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Before the game kicks off, let's take a look at the final betting odds via Draft Kings.

Line: Michigan State -40.5
Over/Under: 50.5
Moneyline: Unavailable

If you're looking to bet Michigan State moneyline, you won't be able to do that before the game and it wouldn't even be worth it live unless the Spartans were trailing in the second half for some reason.

The spread seems a little drastic, especially for a Spartan team that hasn't won by more than six points through two weeks, but Prairie View A&M is that bad.

I'm going to go ahead and predict that the Panthers cover that 40.5-point spread and the over is hit. I just think the defense has a lot of work to do after last week and while we will see some bounce-back performances on that side of the ball, there will be some lapses due to some depth pieces getting a shot with injured starters out.

I'll say Michigan State wins this one, 45-13.
