Jim Michalczik and Jonathan Smith have pieced together a really solid incoming offensive line class for Michigan State football.

The Spartans are bringing in a handful of offensive linemen with the 2024 class and each one of them has an impressive athletic background.

In fact, Kenny Jordan of On3 shared their athletic achievements from high school.

Seeing that each of them possesses an athletic strength outside of football is impressive and it just goes to show that Mel Tucker's way of recruiting on the offensive line (big and nothing else matters) was outdated. Smith and Michalczik are getting guys who not only fit their system but who can move around and aren't "just big".

Rakeem Johnson is a top-five discus thrower in the country, Rustin Young is a track star as well, the Luniewski twins are cyclists, Andrew Dennis is a hockey star, and Payton Stewart starred on his high school basketball team. How often have you heard of offensive linemen being able to do all of these things? OK, I get the discus but hockey, basketball, and cycling? That's impressive for their size.

I don't remember the last time I was this excited about an incoming offensive line class at Michigan State and I truly believe that all of these guys could have massive impacts.

Dennis was the latest to join the fold after transferring in from Illinois, but he was once a Spartan pledge before Smith was hired and after the Tucker debacle. Young is another one who I believe will be a star eventually. This entire group is going to be solid.

Being athletic freaks will help.
