Now that we are in the month of July, we can officially welcome the four new Big Ten schools to the conference. As of July 1, Washington, Oregon, USC, and UCLA have become official members of the Big Ten.

With that comes exciting new matchups and places to travel to watch games in the coming years. But if you're like me, you are probably wondering how Michigan State has done against these programs in the past.

Well you're in luck, because below you will find a quick summary of the all time series history between Michigan State and the four new Big Ten programs.

1. Washington Huskies

Let's begin with the program that we know the most about. As you all know, Michigan State suffered losses to Washington the last two seasons. In 2022, the Spartans lost to Washington in Seattle 39-28. The return game to East Lansing last season was unfortunately much worse than that as the Huskies throttled MSU 41-7. Let's not talk about those games anymore.

Unfortunately, the all time series is pretty similar to these past two games as Washington holds a 4-1 record over Michigan State. The first game of the series dates back to 1969 in East Lansing that Michigan State won 27-11. These teams played again the following season in Seattle where Washington was dominant in a 42-16 win.

The only other meeting between these programs came in the 1997 Hawaii Bowl, a game that Washington once again was dominant, winning 51-23.

I've never viewed Washington as a powerhouse football program, so it's unfortuante to see MSU's history against them so heavily skewed in their favor. Let's hope the next time the Huskies are on the schedule that Michigan State can finally beat them again and end their four game losing streak.
