Michigan State football player representatives for Big Ten Media Day announced
It's that time of year again, Michigan State football fans.
While the season is still a handful of weeks away, the calendar has flipped to July and that means that Big Ten Media Day is almost upon us.
It's going to feel a little different this year with no Mel Tucker and a new head coach leading the way, but Jonathan Smith is going to do a really good job of representing the program and the school. It was time for a change and the Spartans hired a really good coach.
While Smith will obviously be at media day answering all the questions about the rivalry, the new job, and expectations for 2024, he will be accompanied by a few of his players.
On Thursday, Michigan State announced the three players joining Smith in Indianapolis.
Nate Carter, Dillon Tatum, and Jack Velling will all be at Lucas Oil Stadium with Smith on July 24 to represent Michigan State and speak about the upcoming season to the media.
All three bring a different perspective to the table as well. Tatum has been with the program for years and is now on his second head coach so he knows Michigan State as well as anyone, Carter transferred in last season and has gone through the portal stage, and Velling, too, transferred in but it was this offseason and he's yet to play a game with the Spartans. Three unique perspectives make this trio an intriguing one for the media.
It'll be interesting to hear what each of them have to say about the upcoming season's expectations.
