Michigan State football is not done in the portal. Not even close.

Jonathan Smith and the Spartans have been tied to numerous transfers over the past few weeks and have even landed 20 since the new head coach took over. He's been on a hot streak recently, picking up commitments from Ed Woods, Lejond Cavazos, Jalen Satchell, Marcellius Pulliam, Ru'Quan Buckley, Tyler Gillison, Andrew Dennis, and Kay'Ron Lynch-Adams in recent weeks.

The roster is starting to take shape, but it's clear that Smith is not content with where it sits in mid-May and he's hosting a number of transfers this month.

On Tuesday, an interesting name appeared on the radar for Michigan State fans.

Kobee Minor.

While that name may not seem totally familiar, he was an honorable mention All-Big Ten performer with the Indiana Hoosiers this past season, recording 20 tackles and four pass breakups. He actually had a decent game against the Spartans on Nov. 18 with four tackles.

Prior to his time at Indiana, Minor was a key contributor at Texas Tech. He appeared in 23 games over two seasons with the Red Raiders, starting as a special teams star and transitioning into a backup cornerback where he finished his sophomore season (2022) with 12 tackles and two pass breakups.

It's clear that Smith is ready to bolster the defensive back room with guys like Cavazos and Woods coming in. If he can land Minor as well, there will be something special brewing here.

It's been a long time since we've seen a quality pass defense in East Lansing and it looks like Demetrice Martin and Blue Adams are trying to flip the script in a hurry.
