Michigan State football vs. Houston
Overall Record: 0-1
First Meeting: 1967
1967 was a disaster of a year for MSU. Opening the season ranked No. 3 in the nation, the Spartans would go just 3-9 overall.
The year got off to a horrid start with a 37-3 loss at home to Houston. That was a sign that the Spartans were not one of the best teams in the nation.
A loss to No. 2 USC would come the next week before wins over Wisconsin and Michigan would stop the bleeding. However, a five-game losing streak would ensue with losses to Minnesota, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Indiana, and Purdue. The only solace would be a 41-27 victory over Northwestern to end the year.
