Michigan State football vs. Auburn

Overall Record: 0-1
First Meting: 1938

Another MSU series that hasn't been played in the modern era is against Auburn out of the SEC. It is rare for SEC and Big Ten opponents to meet in the regular season so it isn't a shock that MSU and the Tigers haven't faced off since 1938.

In 1937, Michigan State went 8-1 in the regular season with its only loss being a 3-0 defeat at Manhattan in week three. That came one week after a 19-14 win over Michigan in Ann Arbor.

MSU also secured wins over Wayne, Missouri, Marquette, Kansas, Temple, Carnegie Tech, and San Francisco before being invited to play in the 1938 Orange Bowl in Miami. That New Year's Day game was a 6-0 loss to Auburn to close the season out at 8-2.
