Michigan State football vs. Army
Overall Record: 0-2
First Meeting: 1931
Last Meeting: 1984
Though Army is no longer a power in the sport, there was a time when losing to the Black Knights was nothing to be ashamed of. That was the case in 1931 when Michigan State fell 20-7 in West Point, New York.
That year, MSU opened up 2-0 before losing to Army. Then, two wins over Illinois Wesleyan and Georgetown were claimed before losing at home to Syracuse. A win over Ripon at home proceeded a scoreless time at Michigan and a road loss to Detroit for a 5-3-1 mark.
The programs met again in the 1986 Cherry Bowl in Pontiac, Michigan. That was a 10-6 Army win. That Michigan State team would go just 6-6 and 5-4 in Big Ten play.
