The injury bug has not been kind to Michigan State football so far this season. From having half of their wide receivers out for the Boston College game to the offensive line losing multiple starters this has not been the year so far for the Spartans when it comes to injuries.

However, even looking back to the previous few seasons it seems like Michigan State is always dealing with a large amount of injuries. Yes, every team in the country deals with injuries every year, but for whatever reason it feels like Michigan State has way more significant injuries than the average team. So much so it feels like a brand new long term injury surfaces every game.

That is except for the Spartans' last game against Ohio State.

Not much good came out of Michigan State’s 38-7 loss to Ohio State, but one thing we can be happy about is that the Spartans did not suffer any serious injuries according to Jonathan Smith. I honestly can’t tell you how long it’s been since that’s happened.

Michigan State did still have their fair share of injury scares on Saturday as wide receiver Jaron Glover and defensive lineman Maverick Hansen who both went down with injuries. Both really scared me because Glover has already missed time this season and Hansen is a major piece to the defensive line, but thankfully it appears those injuries are nothing we need to worry about.

With one more game before Michigan State’s bye week it’s critical to start getting healthy now, that way they can use the bye week to be as healthy as possible before gearing up for their final six games. So hopefully MSU gets lucky once again in the injury department at Oregon because we all know Michigan State can’t withstand many more serious injuries this season.
