Michigan State football center Tanner Miller somehow left off Rimington watch list
Preseason watch lists mean next to nothing, but that won't stop Michigan State football fans from getting worked up over their favorite players not making them.
Aidan Chiles was left off the Davey O'Brien watch list somehow earlier this week and on Friday, the Rimington Trophy released its preseason watch list and a prominent name was somehow left off.
Michigan State's Tanner Miller, a former All-Pac-12 selection at center, was not on the list.
Obviously he's going to have to earn his respect, but there's just no way that there are six centers in the Big Ten better than Miller and 40 centers in college football ahead of the Spartans' starter. Even EA Sports College Football 25 gave Miller his respect, rating him one of the best players on the team.
What's even more shocking is that his replacement at Oregon State, Colorado transfer Van Wells, was named to the watch list even though he didn't make an All-Pac-12 team last year with the Buffaloes.
I get it, these lists mean nothing and there's a good chance that Miller, along with Chiles, will make the midseason watch list. He's too good of a player not to make some noise and show the Rimington Trophy selection committee that he's worthy of the coveted award.
But it's just shocking to me that an all-conference performer is completely left off a list of 40 players at one specific position, especially when his replacement is on the list after proving next to nothing with the Buffaloes in two years (he's solid, but not better than Miller already).
Hey, maybe #disrespekt season is back.
