2. AJ Hoggard has 10 assists

In case you haven't been following the career milestones for the Spartans lately, AJ Hoggard just hit the 500-assist mark for his career, making him one of the most prolific passers in Michigan State history. Not too shabby, following in the footsteps of Cassius Winston whose career was ended disappointingly with COVID-19.

All Hoggard has done since taking the reins is put up over 500 assists and he's also closing in on 1,000 career points which he should hit in the next month, or so.

While his assist numbers are down this year (5.1) compared to last year (5.9), I think that has a lot to do with the slow start he got out to, but he's been turning it up lately. He only had more than four assists in one of the first six games and he's had at least four in seven of the past eight games. Basically, he's back.

On Thursday against Minnesota, he's going to have one of his best passing games of the year, dishing 10 assists for the second time this year and first time since Dec. 21 against Stony Brook.

Hoggard will also finish with 11 points to go along with his 10 assists and just two turnovers. Not too shabby of a game for the veteran point guard.
