Michigan State basketball: 3 bold predictions for rematch with Michigan
2. AJ Hoggard finishes with double-double
I've made this prediction a number of times this season and it hasn't happened for me yet, but I'm predicting a big game from the senior point guard in his last trip to Ann Arbor.
With guys like Malik Hall and Jaden Akins playing their best basketball of the year, it shouldn't be too difficult for Hoggard to reach 10 assists. He had seven assists in the first meeting between these two teams to go along with 15 points and I think he'll out-do himself in Ann Arbor on Saturday night.
Hoggard is going to find Akins for a few big threes and he'll dish the ball into the post for some hard-earned Hall buckets and maybe even a Carson Cooper slam or two. Oh, and we'll see him throw up the play of the night which will be an alley-oop from half-court to a streaking Coen Carr. He'll finish with 11 assists, wowing the crowd with some of his passes along the way.
Not only will he be passing at a high level, but he'll also be scoring at a nice clip against the Michigan guards who simply don't have the size to hang with a driving Hoggard. He'll add 14 points.
A nice road double-double to get some confidence back.
