1. Michigan State wins a road game and covers

If you haven't heard the stat yet, Michigan State is just 1-4 in true road games this season. The Spartans are just 1-6 outside of the state of Michigan. That's not the greatest trend, but Tom Izzo is trying to change that.

Michigan State won its first road game a couple of weeks ago when it traveled to College Park and beat Maryland 61-59 and it has a chance to make it 2-of-3 on Tuesday night.

And the Spartans will do just that.

In need of a resume-building win, the Spartans will go into Minneapolis and get off to a quick start against the Gophers, even mounting an early eight-point lead in the first 10 minutes. They'll surrender that lead with a quick Minnesota run, but the Spartans will go into halftime up by three.

In the second half, Michigan State will battle the Gophers back-and-forth before eventually hitting a couple of dagger threes to pull away and cover the 3.5-point spread. The Spartans win this one 73-68 and improve to 15-8 on the year and 7-5 in league play with eight games left.
