2. Jaden Akins stays hot

Jaden Akins is coming off a career game in which he scored 23 points against Michigan. He was the driving force in the win and he was hot when the offense was struggling a bit in the first half against the Wolverines.

It was good to see Akins getting hot and finding his rhythm because it felt like he had struggled to do so through the first couple months of the season. He had struggled with inconsistency but his red-hot shooting effort on Tuesday against the Wolverines could be the start of a turnaround. I think this could be the turning point in his junior year.

Akins' 23-point outing was actually his third double-digit scoring performance in the past four games and it feels like he's finally finding his groove.

That continues against Maryland on Saturday night.

The junior guard will stay hot, putting up 16 points with four more threes and even a monster dunk to get the Breslin Center crowd on its feet in the second half.
