Marcus Bingham Jr. is a name that you probably haven’t heard in a couple years, but Monday night he went off in the Israeli basketball league.

Bingham played four seasons at Michigan State with his career ending after the 2021-22 season. He attempted to make it in the NBA initially, but went undrafted and was never able to break through and make it in the league.

Bingham now finds himself playing for Hapoel Haifa, a professional basketball team in the top Israeli league. And on Monday night, Bingham had one of the best games in the league’s entire history.

Marcus Bingham Jr. sets single-game league record

On Monday night, Bingham helped lead his team to a hard fought 93-89 victory. Bingham had not only one of his best games of his professional career, but he had one of the best games in the league’s entire history. Bingham went off for 22 points and a whopping 26 rebounds, which is a single-game record for the Israeli league.

These types of games were unheard of from Bingham at Michigan State under Tom Izzo as he only averaged 9.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game as a senior in East Lansing. However, maybe this shouldn’t be a huge surprise to us because Bingham is the all time Michigan State career leader in blocks. So clearly he is able to use his height and athleticism to his advantage, and he’s now seeing that translate to his professional career.

Bingham’s team currently sits in the middle of the league standings at 12-13. However, the thing I care about most is Bingham’s individual success, and it’s clear that he is doing just fine and making a name for himself.
