How to watch Michigan vs. Michigan State hockey in regional final
It's Michigan State hockey regional final time, folks.
After picking up a massive come-from-behind win over Western Michigan on Friday, Michigan State headed to the regional final to face a more-than-familiar foe: Michigan.
The Wolverines, too, won their first-round game and needed a strong performance to do so. North Dakota was the fifth-best team in the country heading into the NCAA Tournament and Michigan took care of business, setting up a sixth matchup with Michigan State on Sunday night.
Michigan State's game was a little more intriguing as the Spartans brushed off a 4-2 deficit in the third period to beat Western Michigan in overtime. A goal with under a minute left in regulation sent it to overtime and Trey Augustine shut the door late while the Spartans scored nine minutes into the extra period to send the Broncos home.
Now the Spartans will face Michigan for the sixth time and there's a trip to the Frozen Four on the line. Michigan State saw the Wolverines just last weekend for the Big Ten title game and the Spartans won in an overtime thriller. Michigan is looking for revenge.
This game won't be an easy win for either side. It's tough to beat a team five (!!) times in a single season so MSU will have its work cut out and the Wolverines haven't figured the Spartans out yet.
But here's how you can watch Sunday's regional final:
Where: Maryland Heights, Mo.
When: 6:30 p.m. ET
TV Channel: ESPN2
Live Stream: ESPN+
There you have it, Spartan fans. You have a chance to interrupt your Easter dinner with some goal celebrations and outbursts. Can't think of a better way to spend Easter Sunday.
