How each former Michigan State football QB fared in battles with new teams
4. Noah Kim, Coastal Carolina
Last but not least is Noah Kim, who if you remember won the quarterback battle out of fall camp for Michigan State last season. We all know that did not work out for the Spartans and Kim like his fellow teammates entered the transfer portal this offseason.
Kim landed at Coastal Carolina, and in all honesty he probably expected to win the starting job considering they are a step below the Power Four level. But unfortunately for Kim, it’s sounding like he lost the quarterback battle and will be the backup for Coastal this season.
Now this news hasn’t been officially announced just yet, but Sleepers Media released a YouTube video stating this is what their sources are telling them. So we will have to wait for an official word on this battle, but it appears Kim is the second former Spartan who failed to win his quarterback battle this fall.
Both Kim and Houser losing their fall battles just further reinforces why Leavitt should have been the starter all last season. Not only is Leavitt the only guys from last year’s quarterback room who won his starting job at his new school, but he did it at a Power Four school and Kim and Houser failed to at group of five schools.
Regardless, I still hope Kim gets his chance and can earn some playing time at some point.
