After entering the transfer portal at end of spring ball, former Michigan State football defensive end Andrew Depaepe was one of the final departures who had yet to pick a new home.

We watched as Simeon Barrow picked Miami, Derrick Harmon went to Oregon, Jaden Mangham committed to Michigan (gross), Ethan Boyd picked Colorado, Geno VanDeMark went to Alabama, and Bai Jobe opted to commit to Kansas. It's been a busy spring for Michigan State departures.

Depaepe was still looking for a new home, but it looks like he's headed to another Big Ten program.

In fact, Depaepe is headed to Indiana after thinking it over for a few weeks and he should be one of the key players in the defensive line rotation for the rebuilding Hoosiers under Curt Cignetti.

While this transfer seems a little interesting because Indiana is not known for being a quality football program but Depaepe is actually joining his younger brother William who is a three-star in the Hoosiers' 2024 class. It just makes sense that the two will join the same program at the next level and feed off each other. It's a good landing spot for Depaepe with a lot of playing time coming his way.

This was a tough loss for the Spartans because it felt like Depaepe was going to eventually have a major impact at Michigan State and the same could've been said for Bai Jobe but neither played much during the Mel Tucker era before hitting the portal. They needed fresh starts.

It won't be hard to root for Depaepe when he's not facing Michigan State.
