Another work week is in the books and Michigan State football is sitting at 2-0, gearing up for a tune-up game against Prairie View A&M on Saturday afternoon.

The 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff is an interesting time slot for the Spartans against an FCS foe, but here we are. Michigan State will get the Panthers in a late-afternoon game at Spartan Stadium and this should be a lopsided victory for the Spartans.

Michigan State opens as 40.5-point favorites, according to Draft Kings, and they may be without some key players. The Spartans may be missing guys like Jaron Glover, Ed Woods, and Ben Roberts. They'll also surely be without Kristian Phillips, Dillon Tatum, Chance Rucker, and Alante Brown. The injury bug has not been kind to Michigan State so far.

As you might know by now, I like to run an EA Sports College Football 25 simulation ahead of each Michigan State game to see what the video game believes will happen with the Spartans.

I did that once again on Friday.

If you have the game, you probably know that you can't play as an FCS school in the "Play Now" menu so I had to create an entire Michigan State dynasty to do this simulation. And the game has the Spartans playing "FCS Midwest" in place of Prairie View A&M (because FCS schools are not in the game).

And it wasn't close. Let's take a look at the stats.

Michigan State ended up winning the game 38-3 which seems about accurate for some of the predictions for Saturday's contest. The Spartans were up 28-0 at the half and then coasted to a 35-point win over "FCS Midwest" who we will just call the Panthers.

The Spartans out-gained the Panthers 504-190 and held them to just 9-of-17 passing for 88 yards. Michigan State was 11-of-16 on third downs and held the Panthers to 2-for-12 and both teams had a turnover.

Here are some key contributors in the win:

Player

Stats

Aidan Chiles

28-for-39, 358 yards, 4 TDs, 1 interception, 1 rushing TD

Nate Carter

18 carries, 89 yards

Jack Velling

9 catches, 91 yards

Montorie Foster Jr.

5 catches, 126 yards, 1 TD

Nick Marsh

3 catches, 38 yards, 1 TD

Khris Bogle

6 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 0.5 sacks

Quindarius Dunnigan

4 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss

Jalen Thompson

1 tackle for loss, 1 forced fumble

Overall, not a bad performance from this team. It wasn't the most exciting matchup, but the Spartans put up over 500 yards of total offense and Chiles threw for nearly 400 yards for the second straight game. But he needs to have just one game with no interceptions.
