A Spartan legend is continuing his impressive professional career overseas.

Earlier this week, Cassius Winston signed a contract with Italy to continue his overseas career after spending last season in Turkey.

On Tuesday, Winston signed with Italy's Pallacanestro Reggiana for the upcoming season.

With Tofas Bursa in Turkey, Winston averaged 14.6 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game and proved to be a point guard with immense potential. While he isn't playing in the league he had dreamed of when he was a kid, he's still making a name for himself overseas and that's more than enough.

Winston was one of the best Michigan State basketball players in the program's history, winning the Big Ten Player of the Year award as a junior and going down as arguably the best point guard that Tom Izzo has ever coached -- yes, rivaling Mateen Cleaves.

The former Detroit Jesuit star actually broke Cleaves' all-time Big Ten assists record and was the star for some of the most successful Michigan State teams from the past two decades.

In fact, Winston was the star and captain for the 2018-19 team that made a Final Four and the 2019-20 team that capped off three straight Big Ten titles. He won three conference titles in four years and that success would have only been topped by a national title but he had his opportunity swiped from him due to COVID-19.

It's good to see him having success overseas and while we all wished he was in the NBA still, Spartan fans everywhere are rooting for him.
