It's been two weeks since AJ Hoggard hit the transfer portal and he's been drawing interest from some interesting programs.

Last week, it was revealed that he had cut his list to Florida, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Washington, and USC and it feels like he's narrowing it all down before a decision in the coming week or two. While he has yet to set a commitment date, it feels like the timeline is being sped up by recent news.

What do I mean by this?

Well, Hoggard was offered a massive NIL deal, according to a report from a Vanderbilt insider.

Hoggard is clearly worth more than anyone could have expected when he entered the transfer portal, but Vanderbilt is going through a massive rebuild and they're willing to pay big money for a starting point guard who can lead the team. Mark Byington is trying to assemble a competitive roster early on and while Hoggard was disappointing in 2023-24, he is a veteran who is going to help a rebuilding program early on.

While this deal is reportedly on the table, there's no saying if it's enough to convince him to go to one of the bottom-dwellers in the SEC over teams like Florida or USC.

None of the teams on Hoggard's list are truly contenders ahead of next season other than maybe Florida and I'm sure there's an NIL deal waiting for him at all of these potential landing spots.

It'll be interesting to see where Hoggard ends up next season.
