3. Offensive line play is bad

The one thing every team needs to be a successful program is good offensive line play, and unfortunately for Michigan State, they aren't getting anything close to that. And the struggles are coming in the run game and pass games.

I can count at least four times in this game that a Spartan rusher got hit in the backfield the second they got the ball. If that happens once in a game then who cares, but anything more than that is a problem.

The offensive line was a little better in pass protection, but it still was nowhere near where it needs to be. Thankfully Chiles is good on his feet because he had to scramble during this game, a lot.

Unfortunately, offensive line play is hard to drastically improve on during the season, but the coaching staff can try to scheme around it as best they can. It's hard to do so in the run game, but quick hitters in the passing game can make life easier for the line and Chiles, and MSU did a lot of that during their game-winning drive.

But if Michigan State wants to finish the season strong, they are going to have to figure something out to improve the line.
