2. Michigan State never gave up

There were more than a couple of moments when I thought the game was over. Now I likely was just being dramatic, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who had those thoughts throughout the second half.

Thankfully the team never showed that they were giving up.

Multiple times in the fourth quarter it seemed like Maryland was ready to put the game away, but the Spartans pulled out big plays on both sides of the ball and got a little lucky. The Spartans' defense came up with a big interception halfway through the fourth quarter, but the offense unfortunately did nothing with it.

But the defense again did not give up and forced a 41-yard field goal that Maryland missed. Then the very next play Chiles connected with Nick Marsh for a 77-yard touchdown.

Last year's team gave up far too often during the game, but this year's team is different. After all the adversity they faced, whether it be questionable calls from the refs or costly mistakes, they never gave up, and that is something you love to see no matter if they win or lose.
