2. Gehrig Normand has finally arrived

One player I haven’t been that impressed with so far this trip was Gehrig Normand. I had high expectations for him after redshirting last season because he is an elite shooter and this team desperately needs that.

But so far he hasn’t shown much of that, that is until Michigan State’s final game in Spain.

Normand stepped up and knocked down a couple of 3-pointers in Michigan State’s game against KK FMP. He did so in a variety of ways from hitting one in transition and throughout the normal flow of MSU’s offense as well.

Those six points may have been the only points that Normand scored, but that’s something I’m completely fine with. Michigan State doesn’t need Normand to be a leading scorer, all they need is a few timely threes from him and that’s exactly what he gave in this game.

Normand won’t be a starter for Michigan State this season, and I’m still not convinced he’ll see a lot of time, but if he can have more games like this it will be impossible to keep him off the floor.
