1. Maverick Hansen

At 6-foot-4, 314 pounds, Maverick Hansen has the physical tools to be an NFL player. He also has numerous accolades when it comes to grades, being a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

With Derrick Harmon and Simeon Barrow entering the transfer portal, Hansen will have plenty of opportunity to show off not just his play on the field, but his leadership in the defensive line room. He was also a freshman on Mark Dantonio's last Michigan State team.

There have been a multitude of reasons for Hansen to look for opportunities to play elsewhere but his decision to stay with Michigan State really says something, too. Three total coaching changes, dysfunction in the program, ease of transfer portal accessibility, and NIL opportunities had a lot of other players look for a fresh start, but Hansen has decided to stick with the Spartans, and we hope he can be rewarded for his loyalty.
