2. Jeremy Fears will be the starting point guard

Heading into this game I saw the starting point guard spot as a battle between Jeremy Fears Jr. and Tre Holloman. It was Fears who drew the start at point guard in this game, but I wasn't going to let that dictate if he's winning this competition or not. But Fears' play on the court proved he's the guy to beat right now.

The best thing about Fears' game was that he had complete control of the offense from the get-go. He didn't make many silly mistakes and he dished out assist after assist. He also finished with a solid 12 points which included some very timely buckets.

Fears' transition game was next level as well and gave me flashbacks of the old Tom Izzo teams that were elite in the open floor. Towards the end of the game as well, with the Spartan's lead cut to three, Fears got a late bucket which all but sealed the win.

Like everyone else however, Fears wasn't perfect. But it's the first preseason game in mid-August so who cares. He's also coming back from his major injury last December, so the fact that he is far and away the leader at point guard is nothing short of spectacular.
