Moneyball is back in action for the third week this summer, and we once again get to see how some Michigan State basketball players are developing this offseason.

Tuesday night was a great night both for Michigan State’s star players as well as one of their role players this season. However, it wasn’t all perfect and one Spartan in particular is concerning me some.

So let’s dive in to my three takeaways from night five if Moneyball on Tuesday.

Note: Click here for a summary on how all 13 Michigan State Spartans did during the first four nights of Moneyball.

1. Gehrig Normand finding consistency from deep

One of the best things I saw at Moneyball on Tuesday night was the consistency from Gehrig Normand and his jump shot. To be fair, the consistency has been there all Moneyball, but I’ve yet to give him the props he deserves.

Normand is best known for being a sharp shooter from 3-point range. That’s what Michigan State will need from him this season as there is a huge question mark surrounding this teams 3-point shooting. But if Normand keeps his shooting up, then there might not be anything to worry about on that front anymore.

On Tuesday, Normand scored 25 points including three 3-pointers. In the five Moneyball games so far, Normand is averaging 3.2 made 3-pointers per game.

That’s exactly what you hope to see from the sharp shooters on your team, and if Normand can do that for Michigan State this season then they might be in for a very good season.
