3 keys to victory for Michigan State football vs. FAU
3. Win the turnover battle
The one thing that keeps a lesser opponent in a game is silly turnovers. Do I expect Michigan State to be perfect on offense? Not at all. In fact I’d be shocked if they ended the game with zero turnovers. But what MSU can’t do is allow the turnovers to start piling up.
Anyone remember the first game of Mel Tucker’s tenure? The Spartans finished with eight turnovers in that ugly display of football and still only lost by nine points. Let’s not do that again.
We also have to hope to see Michigan State’s defense force some turnovers as well. Three turnovers would be more than sufficient in this game, and hopefully we see at least one interception and fumble recovery to show that the defense is capable of both.
But regardless of how many turnovers Michigan State has and forces, as long as they win the turnover battle then they should have no issues winning the game.
