2. Starting center

Before last week I was convinced that the starting center spot was going to be a competition between Carson Cooper and Jaxon Kohler. However, transfer Szymon Zapala might be playing his way into the starting position.

Last week, a video was released of Michigan State scrimmaging during one of their practices and Zapala was seen running with the other guaranteed starters like Jaden Akins, Xavier Booker, and Frankie Fidler.

So does that mean Zapala is the starter as of today? Not necessarily. But it tells us that Izzo is giving him a serious look at earning the starting spot.

All three of these players will have a chance to impress Izzo down low during these three games. However, I honestly expect them all to struggle on offense because they're going to be going up against grown men on the other teams. But can one of them step up and show that they are a better player and bigger threat down low?

I don't care who it is, but for everyone's sake, I hope one of them cements themself as "the guy" down low heading into the rest of the offseason.
