2. Michigan State beats one of their top three opponents

How about we step it up a notch? I think Michigan State will beat at least one of the top opponents on their schedule. This would mean a win over Ohio State, Oregon, or Michigan.

All three teams find themselves in the preseason top 10 of the AP Poll, so that in itself tells you how difficult this will be. Then you factor in that Oregon and Michigan are on the road and Ohio State, who is the highest ranked team of the three, is at home.

But I still think Michigan State can steal a win from one of these three. We’ve seen it happen before in the first year under a new head coach when Mel Tucker shockingly beat Northwestern at home in 2020 who was an undefeated top 10 team at the time. And I think it’s safe to say this staff is better than what MSU had then and I’d argue this year’s team is probably better as well.

All it takes is to catch one of these teams on an off night and for Michigan State to play at their very best.

I won’t get too bold to try and predict which game it will be, but I hope it’s Ohio State. Imagine if they can win that game in Spartan Stadium in front of a sold out crowd with the entire country watching. Better yet, what if they beat the Buckeyes after accomplishing my first prediction to move to 5-0?

What a wild time that would be.
