There was a lot of talk about Jase Richardson when he was preparing for the 2025 NBA Draft.
The son of Spartan and NBA legend Jason Richardson didn't quite measure up to his listed height. He was getting quite a bashing from not only the media, but also other coaches from around the country.
In fact, in a way, the measurement put a label on Jase as being too small. The closer and closer it got to draft day, Richardson continued to see his name slip down the mocks.
Eventually, he was selected 25th overall by the Orlando Magic. Despite his in-game ability being more of a lottery type pick.
It was what it was, and sure the outside noise about his height might have gotten to others. But not Jase. In fact, he's very much showcased in the NBA Summer League why those claims were really baseless.
He's been very impressive averaging 16 points per game to this point, and being able to take the ball to the rim over much bigger defenders.

It has impressesd some of his Magic teammates including fellow 2025 draftee Noah Penda.
The Frenchman spoke highly of Jase in a recent interview in Las Vegas during Summer League action.
"I know he received a lot of hate about his height and weight, but I think he plays bigger than his size. And that's a great advantage for him and a really good sign for his future in the NBA," Penda said.

See that's what some people just don't understand sometimes. Sure he's not as big as some had hoped, but Richardson isn't letting it stop him.
Jase has the heart of a champion, and is dedicated to playing his best and hardest no matter his size. I get it he's not the same size his dad was, but he's a Richardson no matter the fact.
Just look how important he was in his lone season in East Lansing. TheSpartans don't win the Big Ten and reach the Elite Eight without him.
So, for those haters, keep it up, he's going to shock you all.
