It has now become a normal part of college sports for a player to transfer from one school to another. However, we’re seeing players transfer to their rivals more than ever before. For the third-time in the last six years, a former Wolverine will make the short trip to East Lansing to join the Michigan State football program.
This time it’s wide receiver Fredrick Moore. The former Wolverine had a breakout performance in the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl, when he caught a touchdown pass against Alabama, but for the most part, he was held back during his time in Ann Arbor.
You have to question a guy that played for Michigan, coming to Michigan State, just like it wasn't fun to see a guy like Jaden Mangham, now with Purdue, famously leave the Spartans for the Wolverines a couple of years ago. That whole saga was messy from both sides. But in Moore's case he appears to already be buying into the Spartan way.
Fred Moore has officially joined the good guys
Moore finally posted his official commitment to Michigan State on his Instagram, which had an interesting caption.
"Praying it gets better playing Chris Webber trynna forget about that timeout in Michigan #GoGreen"
Moore might be throwing a little shade at the Wolverines. I like it, nothing wrong with trolling your old team. Not to mention, he wasn't used properly to begin with. Michigan isn’t exactly the place to go if you're a receiver; the Wolverines don't spread the ball around enough through the air.
So as an alum, welcome aboard, Fredrick. I think you're going to have a better time in the green and white.
Certainly Moore did a better job of trolling than whatever the Mangham family was trying to pull a couple of years ago. It should be fun to see what Moore can do for the Spartans on the field.
