Happy Moneyball tip-off day to all who celebrate. The yearly event that features the entire (healthy) Michigan State basketball roster tips off on Tuesday night at Holt High School and there are some exciting matchups to get fans fired up for the start of the 2026-27 season.
It’s already been a great week for Michigan State basketball fans.
Monday made everyone happy when Dusty May abruptly left Michigan for the NBA. It was about as shocking of a move as anyone could have expected. He was telling everyone that his contract extension with Michigan was just a formality but then he signed a deal with the Dallas Mavericks just two days before the NBA draft.
Now, Michigan State fans will be packing Holt High School’s gym to watch some Spartans face off in the annual Moneyball Pro-Am. Talk about a nice break from the brutality of the offseason.
There will be some interesting matchups on Tuesday night.
Michigan State’s June 23 Moneyball schedule
Here’s what the Tuesday night schedule looks like:
- Motorcars vs. Faygo (6 p.m. ET)
- LAFCU vs. Tri-Star (7 p.m. ET)
- BLT’s vs. SPS (8 p.m. ET)
So which Spartans are facing off?
In the first game, it’ll be Jasiah Jervis and Cam Ward of Team Faygo against Carlos Medlock and Anton Bonke of Team Motorcars. That’s going to be a fun matchup because it’ll be the first time that a lot of fans have seen three of these four guys play. Ward is the only returning Spartan playing in that first game and we all love a newcomer battle.
In the second game between LAFCU and Tri-Star, we’re going to see another newcomer. LAFCU will be represented by Jeremy Fears and Ethan Taylor. That may be the team that most Spartan fans are excited to see. They’ll be facing Coen Carr and Jesse McCulloch of Team Tri-Star. They’re also teaming up with former Michigan State basketball star Kelvin Torbert’s son, KJ Torbert. There are going to be some serious fireworks in this one. All eyes will be on Holt High at 7 p.m. ET.
And in the final game of the night, we’re going to see Kaleb Glenn and Matthew Watkins (walk-on) of BLT’s face off against Jordan Scott and Julius Avent of SPS. That’s not exactly an electric matchup, but it’ll be fun to see how much Glenn has progressed and Scott’s growth, too.
If you’re bored and looking for something fun to do on Tuesday, Moneyball will be electric.
