Michigan State vs. Nebraska final odds and a prediction

Sitting at 7-2 on the season with a 1-0 mark in Big Ten play, Michigan State basketball will host Nebraska with a chance to extend a winning streak to three. A win here could also set up a stress-free stretch that could last until January.

After this Nebraska game, the Spartans will have a handful of winnable matchups against the likes of FAU and Oakland leading up to the resumption of Big Ten play.

Michigan State has looked like a much different team this year compared to last. The Spartans began last season 4-5 through their first nine games and it was that season-opening loss to James Madison that really set the tone for the disappointing season. This year, the Spartans have losses to Kansas, the then-No. 1 team in the country, and now-No. 16 Memphis.

Nebraska is 6-1 on the year and the Cornhuskers have an impressive win over No. 14 Creighton under their belts. Saturday could be another chance for them to add to their resume.

Vegas sees Michigan State winning this game by a few possessions which makes sense. But the fact that Vegas also had Michigan State as just a 4.5-point favorite over Minnesota on Wednesday makes me think that this team loves to defy the odds.

The Spartans will stay hot from the perimeter and the defense will step up to hold another team averaging over 80 points per game to their second-lowest total of the season.
