Michigan State vs. Illinois final odds and a prediction
Wake up, Spartan Nation, it's game day. Michigan State football takes the field this afternoon in Champaign against an Illinois team that started the season hot but has since struggled a bit.
The Spartans, too, got off to a nice start to the season before fizzling out a bit in the past two games against Michigan and Indiana. Now they're looking to end the year on a high note with two wins to go until bowl eligibility but it won't be easy with Illinois looking to protect home-field advantage on Satursay afternoon.
Aidan Chiles is looking to get back on track, too, after a rough couple of games which saw him turn the ball over a few more times and leave the Indiana contest early. He is trying to prove a lot of doubters wrong once again.
If you're looking to bet on Saturday's game and want to know what the final odds are, you've come to the right place. Here are the final odds as of Saturday morning per DraftKings.
Line: Illinois -2.5
Over/Under: 48
Moneyline: Illinois -130 | Michigan State +110
As you can see, Vegas has this one as pretty much a toss-up which is fairly surprising given Michigan State's struggles over the past two games.
How I see it playing out is Michigan State comes out swinging and responds to every Illinois score. They don't shrivel away like they did against Indiana two weeks ago and the Spartans look refreshed after their second bye week over the past month. Michigan State leads for most of the game, surrenders the lead in the fourth and grabs it back before the final whistle on a Chiles touchdown pass to Nick Marsh.
Final score: Michigan State 27, Illinois 23
