The NCAA Tournament is upon Michigan State, and we are in the Big Dance yet again, but they may not love the spot they are in. The Spartans were rewarded with a 3-seed this year, which is something that didn't seem possible during a slump in the middle of the season; however, their region is not going to be easy.

The East Region is loaded this year, starting with the No. 1 overall seed Duke Blue Devils, followed by a two-seed UConn, four-seed Kansas, and five-seed St. John's. The road to a Final Four appearance won't be too easy for the Spartans, but like everyone else in the region, anyone has a chance.

Michigan State will have a tough road to the Final Four

The Final Four is never an easy achievement for any team in the NCAA Tournament. It is one of the deepest runs a team can have in March Madness, and it is just one game away from the National Championship.

For Michigan State, they have many teams in their way to the Final Four, and looking at the betting odds for the Spartans making it, things aren't looking very good. Here are the odds for every team in front of Michigan State to make the Final Four.

  • Duke: -125
  • Arizona: -120
  • Michigan: -125
  • Florida: +175
  • UConn: +500
  • Purdue: +400
  • Iowa State: +320
  • Houston: +220
  • Michigan State: +750

Those are not great odds for Michigan State, and it won't give fans a lot of hope for a Final Four run, but it doesn't make it impossible. Tom Izzo has not been to the Final Four with the Spartans since 2019, when Michigan State fell to Texas Tech.

Michigan State hasn't been to the National Championship since 2009, when they lost to UNC. Izzo is hoping to make it back and finally win it all with the Spartans.
