Michigan State hockey vs. Boston College series preview
3. Revenge games/national spotlight
I’ve mentioned this a bit already but the Spartans did not lose a lot last season in general. It certainly did not sit well that Boston College was two of their losses. Combine that with the fact that MSU has not beaten Boston College in their last five meetings, and you have some extra motivation. Maybe a little extra motivation is in store also after Boston College beat the Spartans in football just a few weeks ago in its annual “Red Bandana Game”.
Overall, the Spartans lead the all-time series against the Eagles 16-11-1. They are 7-4-0 at Munn against them as well. Having the chance for a little payback from last season will certainly be on the mind of Michigan State.
The college hockey world is amped up for this series and so am I. The Eagles were my preseason pick to win the national championship so this will truly be an outstanding test for Michigan State.
Both games will be televised on Big Ten Network and BTN+. Friday’s game is also available to stream on the FOX Sports Go app. For radio coverage, you can listen on the Spartan Media Network online or on channel 1240AM.
Anyone able to attend the games should certainly check it out. Good luck to the Spartans and most importantly, go green.
